Spray Tan

Preparation and aftercare

It is recommended that:

  • anyone under the age of 18 should be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

  • if you have not had a St Tropez spray tan before, then a patch test should be performed at least 24 hours before your spray tan. Please contact us to arrange a suitable time for your patch test. If you do not wish to have a patch test, you may be required to sign an indemnity form before having your treatment.

Preparation

To ensure your tan is flawless and even, please follow this simple guide:

  • Waxing or shaving should be performed at least 24 hours before your spray tan.

  • Do not apply any perfume, deodorant, oils or lotions to your skin on the day of your treatment, as these may reduce results.

  • Exfoliate your entire body the evening before or the morning of your treatment, and pay special attention to dry areas, such as hands, elbows, feet and knees.

  • Wear dark loose clothing (including underwear). Tight clothing may rub on the skin and lead to an uneven tan. The spray tan has a guide color, which may stain clothing, man-made fibres, wool and light coloured hair. Although the guide colour should wash out in cool water, we accept no responibility for any staining that may occur.

  • Spray tan does not contain sunscreen and will not protect you against sunburn.

What to expect during and after your treatment

  • The spray tan application takes about 15 mins.

  • When spraying your face, you will be asked to hold your breath and close your eyes for a few seconds. If you have respiratory problems, please check with your doctor before having the treatment.

  • The spray tan will be left to dry for a few minutes, and then you can get dressed.

  • Avoid touching or rubbing your skin after the treatment.

  • The initial colour is only from the guide colour, and your tan will develop slowly over time.

  • Do not shower or bathe for at least 4 hours after your treatment, and pat yourself dry rather than rubbing your skin. We recommend letting the spray tan develop for 6 to 8 hours.

  • The guide colour will wash off when you shower or bathe, colouring the water. This is not your tan washing off.

  • The guide colour can be left on overnight and washed off the next morning. Some of the guide colour may transfer to your bed linen. The guide colour should wash out of cotton, but it may stain man-made fibres or wool. We accept no responsibility for any staining that may occur.

  • Do not participate in any activity that may cause you to perspire for at least 8 hours after your treatment.

Tan Maintenance Tips

  • Spray tan does not contain sunscreen and will not protect you against sunburn.

  • Apply St Tropez Tan Enhancing Body Moisturiser or Tan Booster daily in between self tan applications, or moisturise daily, to maintain your tan for longer and ensure even fading.

  • Exfoliate your skin with St Tropez Enhancing Body Polish every 3 days to ensure even fading of your tan.

  • Pat yourself dry after showering or bathing.

  • Avoid swimming pools as chlorine can bleach the tan.

  • With correct aftercare, your tan should last 7 - 10 days.
